A SteamPunk Romance
My girlfriend Katherine the Great and I met back in 2002 during a Gaskell’s Ball in Oakland. Gaskell’s is a unique dance event. Imagine, if you will, three hundred people dressed in period 19th century dress, dancing to waltz, schottiche, and the polka. We chose to be different, the people at the Ball. Katherine and I danced to the “Congress of Vienna” and became good friends. Over the months she moved away and we lost touch. But we kept finding each other in the most unlikely places. At Burning Man she joined my group called “Random Acts of Ballroom Dancing” where we invaded a camp and taught them how to ballroom dance. We even got into the documentary “BEYOND BLACK ROCK”. Through a series of odd coincidences we started dating, and we have been having fun ever since.

Photographer and social adventurer, I tend to seek my own path. By day, I am a mild mannered teacher of all things Apple. By night I participate in unusual events such as Burning Man, Dickens Fair, Renaissance Faire, RoboGames, the X PRIZE Cup, and Space Frontier Foundation Conferences. My love of space travel and all things Apple are matched by a fascination for underground art and alternative living.
It is tough being an artistic person in an industry dominated by engineers and programmers. I learned to translate their language into a human tongue, so that novices can understand the technology that surrounds our modern world.
The goal of this blog is twofold:
1. Encourage me to write! And to write as much as possible.
2. Gather ideas and interesting resources for my books
I want to publish books about space tourism and my other unique experiences.
